What Does This Valve Do?  The control valve issue outlined in this video applies to several vehicle types including Saturn Vue, Chevrolet Equinox, Ford Escape, Freestyle, Five Hundred and Mercury Montego.  These vehicles all use the same type of scroll compressor.  Typical symptoms of valve failure is poor cooling at idle but good to normal cooling at higher RPMs or cruising speed.
